Now that the tobacco is well prepared the production of the cigars can start. The making of the cigars can be done on a one combination machine (MIR) or on a separate (rod) bunch maker and a separate overrolling machine.

Bunch making
In order to gain efficiency and speed, have a better control over the weight and make a high quality cigar, often bunches are made as rod bunches. After the rod bunch is made the head (mouth end) and sometimes even the fire end can be shaped.

Over rolling
After the bunch is made the most delicate job, the over rolling of the bunch with the wrapper leaf, starts. As the wrapper is on the outside of the cigar it does not only determine the look of the cigar but also for a major part the taste of it.
